Arriving in Baghdad

After a good bit of training I've arrived in Baghdad to do the job of an Air Advisor. As an Air Advisor my job is to help the Iraqi Air Force establish/regain/hone their Airmanship (the art of operating aircraft). I entered the Air Force in 1991 and have to say I think this could be one of the coolest jobs I've had.

I arrived in Baghdad about 24 hours ago. My neighbor knocked on the door at 3:45 a.m. I woke him up when I was singing some George Jones (The Grand Tour) and Johnny Cash (Folsom Prison Blues). Didn't realize the walls were so thin.

Once I crashed I got some good sleep and am excited about tomorrow (today, post-sleep). I should get to meet some Iraqis and am excited about trying out what little Arabic I know.
